Performance story
In the Swiss Alps, a story endures. It is the story of a shepherdess born at the foot of the mountains. Since childhood, her eyes have been fixed on the summit. Then one day, she made her decision. Step by step, the slope becomes steep. The wind begins to blow. Her breath grows shorter and shorter. But she keeps going. This piece pays tribute to Marie Paradis, in 1808, and to Henriette d'Angeville, in 1838, two Swiss women who were told they would never succeed, and who nevertheless climbed Mont Blanc alone, driven by their courage and determination. The music is composed by Thylacine, created from 200 sounds recorded across Switzerland.
