Venus de Perle: Venus is not born free: she is gazed upon even before she exists. Since time immemorial, women’s bodies have been idealized, observed, and judged. Sacralized as a work of art, then reduced to an image. Desired without consent. Interpreted without words. This performance is inspired by the birth of Venus, not as a celebration of beauty, but as the beginning of an imposed gaze. Here, nothing is offered. Everything is imposed. A body shifts off-center, carried by a silent force. This body asked for nothing.
